Greetings!

July 11th! GLMF starts and I am too excited. I am hoping to get up there more than just once this year but I guess it doesn't matter so long as I get to go!

I will be on vacation starting at 2:30pm precisely on June 26th. Another precious week off from work. It's good though because even though plans for visiting Gettysburg were postponed....I am moving in to MY OWN PLACE!!! Huzzah for me!

Greetings fellow rennies!

I am back from my trip to KY and visiting their ren-fest for the first time. I am impressed by what I found. This faire has something for everyone. I didn't get to see every show, as my watch was forgotton in the car, but what I did see was well done.

The lay out for the vendors is alot like GLMF. Lots of paths thru woods with patches for the sun to shine in. Plenty of room to grow too as it gets bigger. This faire certainly has the potential to grow as big as ORF. That in and of itself is wonderful!

New for 2009 is "coin of the realm". For food, drink and rides they accept these little wooded coins which you've exchanged for your american dollar etc. All in all a great way to start off the Faire season. It's too bad I couldn't see Albannach play there, but the dates just don't match up to my schedule. >sigh<

Everyone there is most friendly and several vendors took the time to give history or background on their wares to my niece, for which I am most grateful. She is very curious. So, thank you to all of you who do that, it is appreciated!

I did meet up with Jezzy MacPeaks! First time I have met someone off of the net at Faire. We have conversed several times online and she is just a super kind of lady. I'm very happy to see she is back and doing what she loves! You go girlie!

If you are travelling there from the north, just an FYI...it's KY-55 SOUTH you want to take off of 421 (which is a right at the yellow blinking light), and you go thru New Castle and Eminence is about 3 miles outside of New Castle. If you need to stay at a hotel, there are several hotels at exit 44 heading south on 71. That's as close as I found to the Faire.

I do have a couple pix that I'll post here in a day or two. I definately recommend this Faire and can't wait to see what they'll be doing next year.

p.s.  They were selling souveneir shirts for only $5.00! and there were two colors to choose from. Shocking! but a wonderful surprise!  ; )
